From laboratory approach to production process: in stainless steel right from the start

, ,

Research processes often begin in a glass reactor and initially function reliably on a laboratory scale. During scale-up, new challenges arise when working with highly active substances, pressure conditions have to be taken into account or aseptic or GMP-compliant processes are required.

In these cases, robust, pressure-resistant and autoclavable bioreactors made of stainless steel from Wilhelm Schmidt are used. We specialize in laboratory-scale preparation vessels and support pharmaceutical companies in safe and realistic process development.

Our systems are based on a modular platform system with thermoforming trays from our own production. This comprises up to 15 standardized volumes from 100 ml to 500 liters. This allows processes to be developed in the laboratory under realistic conditions in stainless steel and then reliably scaled up to larger production scales.

Your advantages at a glance:

Flexibility and scalability

  • Modular platform system

  • 15 standardized volumes from 100 ml to 500 liters

  • Can be flexibly expanded with process technology, e.g. magnetic stirrer, temperature control jacket or PH probe

Safety and process stability

  • Shatterproof design – ideal for handling highly active substances

  • Pressure-resistant design up to +5 bar

  • Autoclavable for easy and safe sterilization

  • Hygienic, easy-to-clean design

Efficiency in development

  • Mobile use

  • Standardized volumes and diameters with thermoformed bases from our own production

Our stainless steel reactors are specially designed for research, pharmaceutical process development and pilot applications and offer maximum safety for people, products and the environment.
