WILHELM SCHMIDT is an independent family business in its second and third generation. Since 1953, we have focused on the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and today offer an internationally established product range of stainless steel containers for critical liquids. We coined the term reusable stainless steel container. With 50 employees, we manufacture exclusively in our 2 plants in Seeheim-Jugenheim.
Our production is geared to our standardised modular system and to small and medium series. Thanks to a high level of vertical integration, we are able to manufacture all quality-determining parts ourselves, especially container bases.
Production
We like to have the production of our stainless steel containers in our own hands from the first drawing to delivery. That is why we produce quality-relevant parts ourselves and invest in modern production facilities and in the further training of our employees. For production steps that we outsource, we work with proven service providers and suppliers. All areas of our production are geared towards the manufacture of high-quality small and medium series.
The core area of our production lies in sheet metal forming, welding and surface technology and final assembly and testing. Our own deep-drawing presses with special tools enable us to produce the bottoms for our containers in 15 different diameters. Our orbital welding systems and our own electropolishing are characteristic of quality and are also specially designed for our product range.
Quality
We have achieved our leading market position for special stainless steel tanks, among other things, through the consistently high quality of our products. The benchmark for us is always the quality expected by the customer in terms of safety, suitability for use and service life. It is our aim to continue to gear all our quality-influencing work towards meeting these requirements in compliance with the relevant directives, standards and regulations.
Experience, holistic development and design, the high in-house share of our production and permanent quality control and assurance are the basis of our quality standards. We are constantly working on the improvement and further development of our products, our manufacturing technologies and our test and inspection procedures. In doing so, we have the necessary certifications and approvals. We will be happy to provide the corresponding evidence, as well as documentation on materials and measurements, on request.

Our products are used worldwide by leading companies in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotech industries. In addition to large corporations, we are happy to supply small, specialised companies. Especially in the case of start-ups, we are proud that our containers are used from research and development to market-ready products.

We regularly exhibit at the most important trade fairs for chemical and pharmaceutical process technology in Europe. In addition to our proven product range, we present technical developments and product innovations.
